On Saturday, President Trump suggested he might consider rejoining the World Health Organization (WHO) after previously signing an executive order to withdraw the U.S. from the group.
“Maybe we would consider doing it again, I don’t know, they have to clean it up a bit,” he said at a Las Vegas rally.
Trump criticized the U.S.’s financial contributions to the WHO, stating the U.S. pays over $500 million, while China only pays $39 million despite having a much larger population. He has often criticized the WHO for lacking reforms and burdening the U.S. with its financial contributions.
At the rally, Trump also announced plans to work with Congress on a bill to reduce taxes and ensure workers’ tips would not be taxed. He also shared efforts to stop the hiring of over 80,000 new IRS agents, funded by $72 billion under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Trump thanked Nevada voters for helping him win the state and touted his actions to reverse Biden administration policies. “This week alone I took nearly 350 executive actions to reverse the horrible failures… Our message couldn’t be more clear: America’s decline is over,” he said.
