An 18-year-old warehouse worker named Chris had grown accustomed to seeing street dogs, but one dog, Ollie, a well-groomed Shiba Inu, stood out. Every day, Ollie would visit a nearby bike shop, which had been closed for weeks after its owner mysteriously disappeared. Chris became concerned and curious, especially when he saw the dog regularly wait outside without eating the food Chris would offer.
Chris initially assumed Ollie was feeding a litter of puppies, but when he realized Ollie was male, he grew puzzled. Ollie’s once-shiny coat had started to dull, and he appeared more distressed each day. Chris’s concern grew stronger, and one day he decided to follow Ollie to see where he was taking the food. The dog dashed off with the sandwich each time, never eating it, leading Chris to wonder if Ollie had been abandoned by his owner.
One evening, as Chris left work, he found Ollie sitting outside the bike shop, his gaze fixed on the store’s windows. Chris, moved by the dog’s loneliness, decided to take him home. But there was a catch: Chris’s girlfriend, Mila, wasn’t fond of dogs. Nevertheless, Chris brought Ollie home, hoping Mila would eventually warm up to the dog. Mila, however, was furious, especially when Chris tried to convince her to keep Ollie. She disliked dogs and didn’t want one in their apartment, citing allergies and her past experiences.
Despite her anger, Mila reluctantly agreed to let Ollie stay, with strict conditions. Chris, relieved but still anxious, decided to make things work. He even slept in the kitchen with Ollie for the night, hopeful that Mila would come to like the dog. However, the next morning, Ollie was gone. Chris feared Mila had taken him back to the streets, but she denied it. After a tense moment, Mila screamed in frustration after discovering Ollie had stolen a steak she had been defrosting. Chris felt betrayed and, in his anger, decided not to feed Ollie the next day.
Later, as Chris observed Ollie getting food again, he decided to follow him to uncover the mystery. Ollie led him to a secluded house on the outskirts of town, where Chris discovered that Ollie had been bringing food to a trapped German Shepherd named Max. The house appeared abandoned, and Chris realized that Max had been locked inside, surviving only on the food Ollie had been bringing.
Chris, disturbed by the situation, called the police. When they arrived, they rescued Max, who was weak from hunger. As they searched the property, they discovered the body of the bike shop owner, who had apparently died weeks ago. The dogs had been left behind without care. The authorities planned to send the dogs to a shelter, but Chris couldn’t bear to let them go.
He decided to adopt both Ollie and Max, despite knowing Mila would be upset. When he brought Ollie home again, Mila was initially displeased but softened when Ollie approached her gently. Over time, she grew fond of the dogs, and the couple became proud dog parents, especially when Max recovered from his stay at the veterinary hospital. Chris and Mila’s hearts melted as they realized how much joy the dogs brought into their lives.
