Nala the Dog’s Journey to Fox News – Lawrence Jones Finds a Lifelong Companion in a Story That Feels ‘Like Something from a Movie!’
The touching bond between Fox News host Lawrence Jones and his service dog Nala has warmed hearts everywhere — a connection so special, it feels cinematic.
Lawrence and Nala: An Instant Bond
On September 17, 2022, Lawrence introduced Nala to the world on Instagram, and fans instantly fell in love. Although she became a regular on his social media, he didn’t share her story until months later.
On Ride to Work With Abby Hornacek (March 28, 2023), Lawrence revealed he met Nala through a story about Raptor, a highly decorated Special Forces dog. “Raptor wouldn’t leave me alone,” he recalled. Jokingly, he told the handler, “Find me one from her bloodline.” On Labor Day, he received a picture — it was Nala. “I got so attached,” he said.
Now inseparable, Nala not only supports Lawrence but also trains with Baden K9 to assist veterans with PTSD.
From Cross Country to Fox & Friends
Lawrence’s show Cross Country ended on September 9, 2023, after nearly two years. Just days later, Fox News announced him as a permanent co-host of Fox & Friends, making him the youngest Black co-host in cable news.
In his words, “It’s an honor to be part of the Fox & Friends legacy — the very show where I made my national debut. I’m excited to help inform viewers each morning.”
