Recent reports show that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested over 100 members of the Tren de Aragua gang in Aurora, Colorado, following years of the gang taking control of apartment complexes and terrorizing residents.
Between January 21 and February 3, ICE detained 194 gang members living illegally in the U.S., with deportation flights to Venezuela in the works. A Wednesday report revealed that ICE’s “lightning raids” in Aurora resulted in over 100 arrests.
Border Hawk tweeted, “BREAKING: More than 100 Tren de Aragua gangbangers rounded up in Aurora, CO.” Users reacted positively, particularly in support of President Trump’s swift actions.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump promised to deport the Tren de Aragua gang, and he’s delivering.” The administration has arrested over 7,000 criminal immigrants in major cities, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that Guantanamo Bay will house deported individuals.
Trump explained that some of the detainees are too dangerous to be held in their home countries, adding that they will be sent to Guantanamo for tougher detention.
Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, emphasized the national security threat posed by illegal immigration, noting a significant increase in arrests of people on terrorist watch lists and over 2 million “gotaways” crossing the border unchecked.
