California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff is once again criticizing President Donald Trump, accusing him of “betraying” Ukraine and failing to secure peace with Russia. Despite the war beginning under President Joe Biden, Schiff is already blaming Trump just one month into his term.
In a CNN interview, Schiff slammed the U.S. for siding with Russia in a recent U.N. resolution, calling it “one of the most shameful incidents in modern history.” He claimed Trump’s approach pressures Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy into making concessions while receiving little in return and accused Trump of prioritizing financial interests over democracy and U.S. alliances.
Schiff also took aim at Trump’s efforts to cut government waste, arguing that they unfairly target federal employees. He then warned of a potential “Trump shutdown,” despite the House securing votes for a spending bill, accusing Republicans of pushing conflicting fiscal policies.
